Senate Passes SB I, An Act Amending the Operational Funding Requirements within Undergraduate Student Government Downtown’s Appropriations Bylaws

Dear Students,

Arizona - On August 25th, 2023, the Seventeenth Legislature met to consider Senate Bill I (SBI), An Act Amending the Operational Funding Requirements within Undergraduate Student Government Downtown’s (USGD) Appropriations Bylaws. The bill was passed with a vote of 11 to 0, and 4 abstains including people not present at Senate meetings.

USGD recognizes that USGT, USGP, and USGW all currently have funding caps on operations funding for their respective campuses. Therefore USGD enacted SB I to create continuity across the USG’s on all four campuses of ASU.

SB I enacts the following:

  • An $850 cap on operations funding

  • Any request more than $850 for operational funding shall require a representative from the organization to present to the appropriations committee.

  • If the amount exceeds $2,000 it shall be presented to the Senate for consideration
