CISA Senator
As the school year comes to a close, seniors are graduating and incoming freshman are attending orientation. The rest of us are deciding what classes to take in the fall and how to get a job or internship that will help our career and maybe even get us some money. We are all figuring out what to do next.
Finishing freshman year is intimidating because it went by so fast and you don’t feel ready for the next year. We have to start thinking about classes related to our major and try and finish off our general education classes. As scary as it all is, it is exciting. Now that we have a year under our belts we know how the college life works and how to handle it.
If you haven’t already joined a club or organization, sophomore year is the time to do it. Getting involved in things that relate to your major or just interest you is a great way to relieve some stress and know what’s going on around Arizona State University. As a freshman, I joined Undergraduate Student Government Downtown as the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) senator. Now that the year is over, I have decided to step down. I know I’m leaving all my projects in the good hands of my co-senator Tyler Tobyne.
Reach out to Tyler should you have any questions about CISA. USGD is probably the best way to know what is going on around campus and throughout the university. Being involved helped me to become efficient with my time and be organized because I had to juggle doing homework along with my USGD work. Undergraduate Student Government isn’t for everyone, but even if you don’t want to be immersed in the organization, you still should go to the events to learn about what they’re working on. Arizona State University’s Undergraduate Student Government is amazing university wide.
